Let’s preserve our most valuable asset.
At Silveroc we do everything we can to build sustainability into our projects, through the use of renewable energy, recycling, and by reducing the overall energy consumption that goes into our work.
Low-impact building materials play a significant role in modern construction management, since natural, locally-available materials not only ensure a building fits into its environment and enhances its design, they can also keep costs down. Technology too plays its part, the use of digital devices in our projects being used to track energy consumption, monitor heating and water use, and control appliances with careful use of resources in mind.
With project management we know that cost savings come not from one big saving but from many smaller ones. It’s an echo of wider sustainability practices, where economic and sustainability behaviours are linked. While it’s unrealistic to expect everyone to make drastic changes to their lifestyle, if many people can make many small contributions, together we can protect our world for the next generation.
1% for the Planet, 100% committed.
As well as building sustainability into our projects and running our business in a way that’s as environmentally-friendly as possible, we are also members of 1% for the Planet. It means we’re committed to giving back at least 1% of our annual turnover to environmental non-profit organisations.
Founded in 2002, 1% for the Planet is a global movement that inspires support for the environment, bringing people together in order to maximise contributions to environmental causes. To date, 1% for the Planet members have given more than $250 million to environmental non-profits. Its network comprises more than 3,000 business members, an ever-growing core of individual members, and thousands of non-profit partners in more than 90 countries across the globe.
For Silveroc, being a member of 1% for the Planet is extremely important. It says who we are and what we stand for as a company. And importantly, it makes caring for the environment an official part of our operations.
